I got the Garmin Nüvi 255W GPS a week ago and no complaints so far. It has great, user friendly features – you don’t need to read the manual. Just plug it in and hit the road! It’s satellite connection is very quick – no waiting required.  If you’re driving in an area that you are not familiar with, you will like the new display which posts the speed limit signs on major roads flush to the left on the screen.  The 4.3″ widescreen display makes it easy to see the road names that you are driving by which is great if you are trying to find a road that isn’t clearly labeled or very close to another one.

Okay, there are a few VERY minor, negative aspects of the device:

The speaker is only adequate at its maximum limit making it difficult to hear when the windows are open in heavy traffic.

• There is no audio out option for the device.
• The arrival time estimate of the GPS is not 100% accurate and can sometimes be misleading.
• The map database does include all public roads, but is sometimes unaware of private roads that can be accessed by public.
• The device sometimes assumes the vehicle is on a road actually when in fact he is going very near to it in parallel.
• The package includes only a car charger, whereas a USB one must be purchased separately.

All in all, the Garmin nüvi 255W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator is a very reliable and user friendly device on the whole with amazing connectivity to the satellite, which is the thing that ultimately matters in a GPS system. The other features are more than pleasing and would definitely be an aid to the user in any kind of a situation.
